If you lose a pet we would like to suggest a couple of things that you can do to help find it.
Call the Shelter first. After you call send a private message to our Facebook page, posting it on Morristown Lost and Found is not a guarantee that it would be shared to us. Send a picture if you have one and above all keep in touch. If you call first, we can note it in our book and then if a stray comes in we will check the book. Come down and look, often. Sometimes the way you describe your pet does not match the way we see it when it comes in on intake. Nothing takes the place of you knowing your pet.
Once we can reunite you with your pet, there are a few things you need. We must have proof of rabies vaccinations. The shot must be current, it is a state law. If you do not have proof of that then we will add $13.00 to the charges. We are required to vaccinate the animals when they come in as we have no idea of their medical history.
It is also important to remember that we will only release the animal to the legal owner, not a neighbor or a friend. Only the legal owner.
Hopefully this will help. We always hope that we can reunite a missing pet with their owner. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to call us, we would be happy to help you.
